History on Rona

Hidden right at the end of the track, in a secluded location, 'Escape' – the former Rona Manse overlooks the tidal bay of Dry Harbour (Acarseid Thioram) from an elevated site with fantastic west facing views across the Sound of Raasay towards Skye and the pinnacle, 'The Old Man of Storr'. Beyond the enclosed garden, highland cattle come to graze on the grassy slope to the shore and the Rona red deer feed in the early morning and late evening.  The views and sunsets are breathtaking from this elevation.
